With the technical instruction of Tuscaloosa's most prominent competitive ballroom dance coaches, our team learns and competes in American and International styles of ballroom dance, as well as popular dances such as West Coast Swing, Hustle, Argentine Tango, Bachata, Meringue, and Salsa. For competition, our team attends up to four competitions a semester across the country.

Started in 2013 by ballroom instructors and competitive dancers Rita Snyder and Richard Richards, the UA Collegiate Ballroom Competition Team has grown significantly since its creation. The team has hosted guest instructors such as Jacob McKearin, Rachael Champion, and Kim Smith, and have been coached by Phillip Farley, a local ballroom instructor, as well as Rita Snyder and Richard Richards themselves. As of 2018, our team is recognized as an official UREC competitive Sports Club. Many thanks go to our instructors and sponsors for their generosity and time spent improving our team!
